For the submission to a PhD study some prerequisites are required from the student.

• The student has to have a master degree in an adequate scientific discipline, like biology or medicine.
• The student has to write a prospectus following the given rules (PDF), which has to be submitted to the head of the department. The prospectus is reviewed by a committee consisting of selected members of the department.
• At the website of the StudienServiceCenter guidelines and prerequisites for a dissertation can be found.
